U Earned It is built on the premise that trust matters. We take your privacy seriously and collect only what we need to operate the service. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and how you can control it.
This Privacy Policy applies to the U Earned It website and the U Earned It mobile apps, both operated by UEI Intelligent Labs LLC.
When you join our waitlist or subscribe, we collect your email address. If you're a restaurant owner using our dashboard, we may also collect your restaurant's name and business email.
When you create an account in the mobile app, we collect your email address to sign you in and secure your account. As you use the app, we store the activity you choose to create: restaurants you save to your "Want to Go" and "Been There" lists, personal notes you add, and dishes you vote on. This information is linked to your account so it's available across your sessions and devices.
If you choose to upload photos — for example, to a restaurant or your dashboard — we collect and store those images. All user-submitted photos are reviewed by our team before they appear publicly. In the mobile app you can report any user-submitted content ("Report a problem"); reported content is hidden for you immediately and reviewed by our moderation team. We access your device's photos only when you initiate an upload; the app does not otherwise read your photo library.
The mobile app can use your device's location in one situation only: when you tap the locate button on the map, to center the map near you. Your location is processed entirely on your device — it is never transmitted to our servers, stored, or shared. The app is fully functional if you decline location access.
When you visit our site, we collect standard server logs including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time of visit. We use this to understand how our service is used and to detect abuse (for example, limiting repeat votes and reports). The mobile app does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or cross-app tracking.
We use Stripe to process payments. We never see or store your full credit card number — Stripe handles all payment data directly and is PCI-DSS compliant. We store only a Stripe customer ID to manage your subscription.
We aggregate publicly available Google review data to compute restaurant scores. We do not collect or store private customer review data beyond what is publicly visible.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
By joining our waitlist or subscribing, you agree to receive emails related to the service — including launch announcements, weekly reports, and threshold alerts. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send.
We use Resend to deliver emails. Your email address is shared with Resend solely for the purpose of delivering messages from U Earned It.
We share your data only with the following third-party services, and only as necessary to operate the service:
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties.
We retain your email and subscription data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, we retain your data for 90 days before deletion, in case you wish to reactivate. Waitlist emails are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

Mobile app users can delete their account and personal data directly in the app: Account → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent — your profile, saved lists, notes, and votes are removed, and any photos you contributed remain only in anonymized form, no longer linked to you.

We use only essential cookies required to operate the service (such as authentication sessions). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
U Earned It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll notify subscribers of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised.
